About So & So Photography:

Hey there! I'm Caleb Fleming. You know, I've been around some really creative people all my life. They come from every background and work in so many different fields, and it's all helped to make me the person that I am. My wife asked me before one of our vacations "If you could do anything on vacation, what would it be?" After thinking about it for a while I thought "I'd take pictures, I guess basically I'd do my job since work isn't a drag for me." Photography is what I love. If you want your photography presented in a real way, those small moments captured so that you can remember them forever - then you've found the right page.

    International TV is way better

    Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

I do get stuff done during the day, I promise!  I did take a bit of a break to browse around and found this fantastic television clip from Japan (i’m guessing?).

If America came up with more shows like this, I’d get even less done.

    thank goodness there are subtitles!

    The Loft. Shoot.

    Sunday, June 28th, 2009

Had the chance yesterday to shoot out with Jason Ward over in Ft. Worth at some vintage lofts.  He had a buddy moving out, so we took over for the evening, dragging up all the lighting we had, plus 3 great models.

The building was built in 1909, and has a lot of original features. All wood floors (some polished concrete) open cielings to reveal the pipework/ electrical, and … wow.  Just awesome.  Here’s a shot from the hall with one of our talented girls.  More to come tomorrow, but I’ve gotta get to bed to plan some vacation time with my wife, she’s itching for me to spend some more time with her.  I’ve gotta say I should really be better about that.

    Sample#1 from the shoot.

    The Shutter Storm

    Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Fellas, it’s here.  It’s going to be something legendary, groundbreaking even.  People will be running down the streets screaming and shouting, hollering for joy because there’s a new photo class available. Yup, a 4 day 3 night Photo Immersion Course through the Texas Hill Country.

Join Jason Ward, of Storm The Beach Advertising, and myself on a group with 10 students to learn everything you need to know to master your camera. If you’re looking to make a few extra bucks shooting your neice and nephew, or maybe start selling some stock photography.  This is the class for you.

Exposure, Lighting, Creative Development – you’ll learn it all.

Check out www.theshutterstorm.com for more info, and don’t miss our informational class on June 26, 7:00PM @ Starbucks on Hwy 360 & Camp Wisdom.

Attached are some examples of the type of work you’ll have the capability to shoot when we’re done. (of course the first one is a map! duh!)

    Country Dancing

    Saturday, June 20th, 2009

Anybody else feel the need to bring their camera everywhere? If it weren’t for my loving wife I’d have it all the time! We’re going country dancing tonight and it’d be great to bring it along, but I’d need strobes, and gels, and a couple lenses, and my laptop, card reader… it’s never just a camera!

Finished the Look Book today! I’ll post up more soon! This was quite a feat. I’m glad to have it though!

    Storms

    Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Crazy storms last night and today. Spent most if the day calming down our hyper shihtzu, she’s picked up the new habit of barking at thunder, bad habit. Especially for those nighttime storms. Those are killer.

I love storms. Storms feel like soft clothes and grilled cheese.

    David Zeiser Seminar

    Wednesday, June 3rd, 2009

What a great conference last night guys. There is some really big things happening in photography and I’m glad to be here at the front of it all. Working with Jonathan Ivy & Brittany Nicole has been a blast too.

What a day yesterday too! Stuck around with the great Sara Hetrick for a shoot with Sunflower Shoppe. Trinity Park, Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens & Sundance Square. That makes for a pretty busy day! Regardless, we lit most of the shots with a Photoflex gold/white reflector (3′x6′) and it pulls out deep shadows beautifully. If you haven’t brought along an assistant to hold a reflector on your shoots yet you have got to. It’s a great way to subtly bring your subject out as the main focus of a photograph.

check out photoflex.com for some great reflectors, or get busy and google a couple DIY reflectors. very worth it!
